New Energy are looking for a detail-focused Contract Administrator to join our Finance team.
Working closely with our Finance Director and project teams, you will help ensure our project financial processes run smoothly — from subcontractor claims and retentions through to supplier payments and reporting.

Job Description
What You'll Do
Review, validate, and process subcontractor payment claims in line with NZS 3910 contract requirements.
Prepare and issue Payment Schedules in accordance with the Construction Contracts Act.
Track subcontractor retentions and manage accurate release of final retentions through the Defects Liability Period.
Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process in Xero, including invoice entry, coding, three-way matching, and payment runs.
Reconcile supplier statements and resolving invoice queries or discrepancies.
Act as a key point of contact for supplier and subcontractor account enquiries.
Support the Finance Director with monthly reporting, budget-to-actual variance analysis, and cash flow forecasting.
Assist with the setup of IT requirements for new and existing employees, including equipment, system access, and maintaining accurate asset records.
Desired Skills and Experience
What You'll Bring to the Role
Experience in project accounting, contract administration, accounts payable, or a similar finance role.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
Experience using Xero and confidence working with financial systems.
An understanding of construction contracts, subcontractor claims, or retention processes (preferred).
Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
Clear communication skills and confidence working with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
