New Energy is seeking a Logistics Lead to coordinate and deliver logistics operations on the Reefton Solar Farm project. This is a key onsite leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment required to support project delivery.
Working closely with the project management team, the Logistics Lead will align logistics planning with construction milestones while overseeing and supporting the Inwards Goods and Distribution Team Leaders. The role ensures a clear and controlled flow of materials from arrival on site through to point-of-use across multiple construction zones.
Job Description
What You'll Do:
Lead and manage daily and forward logistics planning to meet project milestones
Coordinate site deliveries, inspections, and distribution of materials, tools, and equipment
Maintain accurate records of inventory, stock levels, and material movements
Supervise and support logistics team members and Team Leaders to achieve daily goals
Liaise with suppliers, transport providers, and internal teams to manage material flow
Ensure safe storage, handling, and compliance with HSE and quality standards
Operate machinery and assist with manual tasks within competency and licensing as needed
Promote a culture of safety and ensure team use of correct PPE at all times
Support timekeeping and leave compliance for logistics personnel
Contribute to process improvements and SOP reviews within logistics activities
Desired Skills and Experience
Ideally, you'll bring:
Proven experience in logistics or materials management, ideally in construction or infrastructure
Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
Skilled in using logistics tracking tools, inventory systems, and digital reporting platforms
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
High computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office
Detail-oriented, organised, and able to perform under pressure
Full NZ Class 1 driver license (required)
First Aid Certificate (required)
Ability to mentor and coach site teams effectively
Additional machinery and license experience (e.g., forklift, WTR, trenchers) is beneficial but not essential.
