Job Description

The Human Resources (HR) Lead provides essential HR and administrative support to the Project Manager and site team, ensuring high-quality service delivery. Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, the role manages all day-to-day HR activities and the full project employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. It also supports the Project Manager and leadership team with efficient administration, accurate documentation and reporting, and effective team communication.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and HR documentation for the project
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes in line with company procedures
  • Act as the main site contact for all people-related matters, supporting positive culture and employment relations
  • Track attendance and support accurate, timely payroll processing
  • Provide daily project administration support, including data entry, document control, and reporting
  • Manage inventory records, purchasing, and coordination of supplies, tools, and site equipment
  • Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project operations

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in both HR and administrative roles
  • HR certification or degree (desirable)
  • Practical knowledge of employment relations and HR legislation
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Approachable, reliable, and a positive team player
  • Full NZ Class 1 driver’s license (required)
