Job Description

A General Hand is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the New Energy construction project. Duties involve performing a variety of tasks as directed, manual and equipment assisted, to ensure the project is completed to a high standard and according to plan. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Carry out manual labour tasks such as lifting, digging, and drilling
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery under guidance
  • Assist with material movements and general site works
  • Follow all SOPs, toolbox talks, and site instructions
  • Wear and maintain required PPE, and follow all health and safety procedures
  • Report any hazards, near-misses, or incidents
  • Work professionally and cooperatively with the team and contractors
  • Follow all company policies and procedures

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Full NZ Driver Licence (Class 1 required)
  • Physically fit with stamina for manual labour
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow direction
  • Basic knowledge of safe work practices and site protocols

Additional certifications and trade experience (e.g. LUV, EWP, WAH, carpentry, mechanics, electrical, plumbing, etc.) are beneficial but not essential.
