Job Description

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliability and functionality of the equipment and facilities of the New Energy construction project.  The role involves hands-on maintenance, repair and groundskeeping activities as well as documentation and reporting to ensure continuous project workflow. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Manage and perform regular equipment inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance.
  • Carry out mechanical repairs, tyre/track changes, welding, and general site maintenance.
  • Respond to urgent faults and coordinate with vendors as needed.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety requirements; liaise with HSE Lead as required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, check sheets, SOPs, and JSAs.
  • Report maintenance activities and issues to the Project Manager.
  • Work professionally with team members and contractors; follow all company policies.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Relevant trade qualification preferred (e.g. mechanical, engineering, or related field)
  • Strong hands-on experience in general maintenance and mechanical repairs
  • Welding experience (1+ years, able to work independently)
  • Advanced experience with piling machines; expert-level experience with excavators (desired)
  • Practical experience with trenchers, skid steers, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and side-by-sides
  • Strong communication, organisation and time management
  • Professional, motivated, and a team player
  • Physically fit and capable of manual labour in varying conditions
  • Full NZ Driver’s License (Class 1 & 2, WTR and Forklift),
