Join the Cambridge Solar Farm project as an HSE Lead - 45hrs Mon-Fri, approx. 8 months duration
This role is suited for a Health and Safety professional looking for a step into the renewable construction industry. It provides balance between the office and working in the field - high visibility and active monitoring of compliance out on site, with a reasonable splash of report writing and maintaining accurate skills databases (data entry).
Job Description
Duties:
Promote and enforce site health, safety, and environmental standards.
Manage PPE compliance for all personnel on site.
Identify, report, and manage hazards and near misses.
Maintain and update Risk Register, HSE Management Plan, and first aid registers.
Conduct site audits, inspections, and investigations.
Oversee training and competency assessments for staff and supervisors.
Communicate HSE information clearly with all project stakeholders, as required.
Build and maintain relationships with contractors and visitors.
Lead HSE meetings and site tours as required.
Act as a visible role model for HSE culture and values on site.
Skills & Experience:
Proven HSE management experience, preferably in construction
Knowledge of relevant HSE laws, regulations, and standards
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Analytical, organized, detail-oriented, and good with data entry
Competent and accurate report writing and data entry
NZ driver’s license Class 1 Full (minimum)
Additional HSE training or certification is desirable.
